September 22nd, 2009 by ravi

Ahren Code’s Audacity of Tanish is a Posterous Theme with a dark motif and bright foreground colours. Click on the links to the left to download the theme, view screenshots, or post feature or bugfix requests.

License

NOTE: I would like to release this theme under the GPL but I have to first ascertain whether that is possible given that it builds on a closed source product (Posterous). So, the license info below is provisional, until I figure out the issues.

This theme is released under the latest version of the GPL (currently v3), whichever that may be at the time of your use. For the GPL, see: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html.You are free to use this theme for any purpose you choose, in a manner that conforms to the GPL. I would like you to leave the attribution at the bottom of the theme, but you are not required to do so.

Installation

To install the theme, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Download the theme
  2. Open it with your favourite text editor
  3. Copy all the text (Command-A or Ctrl-A, followed by Command-C or Ctrl-C typically)
  4. Go to the Manage section of your Posterous site
  5. Click on Edit Settings for your blog
  6. Click on Theme and customize my site
  7. Click on the Advanced
  8. You will be prompted to add a name for your new theme. Enter “Audacity of Tanish”
  9. Clear out any text in the theme text entry box and paste (Command-V or Ctrl-V, typically) the stuff you copied in step 3 above.
  10. Click on the green “Save, I’m Done” button at the bottom

Notes

Versions of this theme lower than 1.0 (e.g: 0.9) are, as the number indicates, alpha releases. They have not been fully tested on all browsers (in particular IE7 and Chrome). Please be aware of this if you should choose to use this theme. I would love to hear from you if you find issues, so that I can fix them ASAP.

If you like this theme, or especially if you decide to use it, send me email or post a link to this site, leave a comment here, or some such, so I know it was useful!
